What is the relationship between carrier frequency selection and
bandwidth? Does or can the selection of a carrier effect your bandwidth?

What application are you referring too? Depending on the application, the carrier frequency will not have an affect on the bandwidth (of a wire or other medium). But it will be the freq to use for determining if the medium has adequate bandwidth. With more info I may be able to help more, thanks Buzzp

What type of modulation are you using ???
Bandwidth requirments are directly related.

Hello There,
Carrier freq. selection hasn't the slightest bearing on the BW.BW required rather depends on the message bearing siganl and its nature(for audio 2*4Khz).
The fundamental purpose of Modulation is spectral translation and the extent of translation required is decided by the carrier frequency. This boosts the signal energy to the point where it can be efficiently transmitted with lesser noise.

Two Part Question. Carrier Frequency and bandwidth.
selection of carrier frequency to application of bandwidth
is very important. But for specific work. A simple question, and a simple generalized awnser. the higher the carrier frequency, the higher the bandwidth .

hi,
i think carrier frequency matters when we deal with digital communication. For eg., while using QPSk we will get more bandwidth if carrier frequency is higher. i may not be correct, so please bring my misconception(if any) to my notice.
thanx
