Hi,
I want to design a cast-in-place trench box for one of my projects. Could you please provide me with a good reference to perform such design? And what ACI Code do I need to use? Is it ACI 318?
I look forward to hearing from you very soon.
Thanks.

If it is a trench that is intended to contain liquid, then ACI 350 would be applicable (it is essentially ACI 318 on steroids).

If the water is minimal or simple drainage then perhaps ACI 318.

Reference to perform such design: Engineering knowledge and application is the only reference I might suggest as I don't know what the trench is used for, how large it is, where it's located, what it is intended to support, types of soil conditions, seismic conditions, etc.

The culvert will be used to protect utility pipelines. So, basically, no water will flow inside it. It is supported on sandy soil.

Look at your local DOT for a standard detail and use that. No point in reinventing the wheel unless it’s a special circumstance.
