Guys,
I have a CAT Generator and would like to switch the controller from EMCP 11+ to a Deepsea.
How can I achieve this?

What type of fuel injection system you have? EUI( electronic engine) or MUI (mechanical engine)? when you provide this information we can better assist you.

Short answer is yes, can be done.

More details about your existing unit would help define what you actually need to do.

An MUI engine is a much easier retrofit, as the new controller can pretty much do everything to EMCP II did for it, but you will likely need to add a jacket water temperature and oil pressure sensor compatible with the new controller to get those functions back.

EUI units a bit more complicated but really not much, you will probably need to add a 4 position engine control switch (you can take the one off the EMCP) to give the engine ECM the right mode inputs. You will also need to to look at what protections were provided by the EMCP II and what is active in the engine ECM, engine protections such as JW temp and oil pressure was left to the EMCP II on older EUI engines, newer engines pretty much took care of all engine protections and crank functions in their ECM's, with the EMCP II interfacing by CAT Data Link (CDL).

Hope that helps, MikeL.
