Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to either adjust it or what could be wrong as when we are using our wrapped bale cradle unless you keep your finger on the joystick button the pressure goes and it drops the bale also with our dung grab when you let goof the button it releases the pressure.

It has been suggested that it could be the ram seals but the ram stays as cool as a cucumber where they said if they are leaking it should get hot.

Thanks

Could be a bad ram seal. It shouldn't get very hot very fast unless you hold the button on for a long time. One way to check for sure is to put a vale in the line, extend the cylinder, and if gravity causes it to drop the seals are definitely bad. They usually don't go suddenly unless one of them twisted.

It could also be a bad seal in the solenoid valve. If this is true you should be able to hold pressure on one side of the cylinder but not the other.

Thanks I will give it a try tho at the moment we are busy baling and carrying the straw hoping to get it baled before the next downpour! At least the bale spike isn't affected.

I put a valve in to one of the lines and it stopped it So I presume it would be the seals on the valve though it loses pressure in bother lines.

If the cylinder stopped moving with the external valve closed it means the cylinder is good. I'm not familiar with how the CAT is designed, but the valve is probably a 4-way where an internal leak could affect both lines.

Ahh thanks Hopefully we can soon get round to sorting it out once the straw and now the haylage thats been cut is in. Always hard trying to fit it in time when you use it a lot this time of the year and is probably the only machine we have that will be going every day.

Thanks
