I'm working on a Category 3 safety application for a piece of equipment which is going to Europe.
I intend on using a dual channel safety relay(s) with safety rated guard switches and Estop PB's.
Apparently EN954 permits one of these channels, but not both, to be operated by a standard PLC.
What I am resonably certain of is that the standard is saying that both channels may not be operated by the same PLC.
What I am trying to determine is whether EN954 permits the operation of each channel by seperate PLC's
In this case each PLC system would be completely isolated from each other.
Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.
