Hi,

I am trying to do an own macro in Catia V5 where you uses the advanced bill of material function but instead of using the default option I would like to do my own option. I know this is possible though I used to work in a CAD environment with this function.

When I try to change the columns in the default table and I later do an update all changes are lost.

I would like to get a BOM-table with Positon – Quantity – Part number – Part name – Comment
And I would like Catia V5 to get the information from the part/products own properties. Part name from description, Comments from Nomenclature. Is this possible? I´m just a beginner in this…

I´m very thankful for all help/tips I can get

Best regards

I've never been able to save my own customized Bill Of Material reports in CATIA. But I don't use this CATIA tool very much (I use my PLM system to create BOMs). If you do want to generate a BOM in CATIA, I'd suggest you search around for a macro or script you can customize the way you want it.

The Advanced BOM functionality configuration options are controlled in the applied Drafting Standard for the CATDrawing. In order to customize the display of these objects, you can modify the Drafting Standard by launching CATIA in Administrator Mode and using Tools > Standards to modify your drafting standard. After the modification the standard will need to be applied / updated on existing drawings for the change to take effect.

The Location for the Configuration Options can be found at:
Tools > Standard
[Standard Name] > Styles > Bill of Material

I have been trying to search this problem and found some info, but it´s hard to find exactly what I am looking for. Thank you anyway for your tip jackk

Aha ok, sounds logical when you read it. When I Think, I remember the old environment had an own standard, so this must have been the way they made their own BOM. This is really helpful Doug, I´m going to try this one.

Thanks
