Solving a problem with the CATIA V5R30 Documentation Full-Text Search function (Binoculars) not working on locally installed documentation - I came across the older thread, which was no longer relevant.
I believe now it is not required to have Java installed. The documentation uses HTML and JavaScript, but Firefox and other browsers have begun to block local cross-references to .js files, thus defunctioning the searching. I found two solutions:
A. Workaround on Firefox - open about:config and change "security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy" to "false"
or
B. install IIS or another local webserver and use the documentation via localhost.
