Catia V5 installation 1

I installed catia v5 software & bought a single license so will be running two different machines Catia v4 & Catia V5 in a network(one at time).

With Catia V5 softwares I also received IBM CD for license use management Runtime software & Program Directory for Catia P1, P2 & P3 Solutions.
I am not sure what I am supposed to do with these 2 Cds as I alreday have Catia V5 running. What's the purpose of these 2 cds as anyone know?

Also, I would like to know how to install Documentation for Catia V5 as I have 4-5 cds.

Hi there.

As for installing the documentation, this can be done by inserting the first of the documentation set CD's. If the CD does not autostart browse for a installation/start executable file.The installation program will ask you to insert CD's one by one during the process.

You can choose which CATIA products you wish to install documentation for.
Be aware that the whole installation takes quite a while, about 1 hour maybe, don't remember exactly...

The last CD in the documentation set is typically in PDF format for a "lightweight" documentation installation + for printing.

Hi,

You should talk to the people who sold you CATIA, they should help you with installation, and question like this.

For the CDs, if CATIA is running the way you want, fine. Keep them in a box somewhere.

For the online doc, you can insert CD1 and follow instructions. But again talk to those who sold you CATIA.

Unless you refused services, they should be able to help you.

If you refused service from them, you can try to get informations from Forums or find another company to get services from... )

Hi,

As I remember (but I'm not very sure) license use management runtime software is a soft which allows you to see which user on which workstation in a network is using some specific licence after installing the license on a server.

Its useful when you have a network and some users wants to work with different licences which are "catch" by others when they start CATIA (can tell to them to "release" the license).

If you are running CATIA locally on a workstation, forget it.

Anyway, Eric's advice is good.

You have 2 kind of licenses:

Nodelock license : local on the computer.

LUM license : License over a network.

Just to clarify the LUM License Eric mentioned above is also referred to as a Concurrent license.

The Prog. Dir. contains info about defects (APARs) that have been resolved, system and hardware requirements,....
Also you will find a Prog. Dir. with every Service Pack to document the fixes.
