Is it something in our set-up or is it endemic.
I have a Product and am working in the main assembly of the product (everything is active)I select multiple parts in the Product. I highlight the parts I want to de-activate in my product. I right click on the highlighted parts and get a menut. I highlight the "selected objects" option, then I click on the "activate/deactivate component" option. First thing it does is deselect all of my highlighted components. Next if I happen to click on any of those components it will then Deactivate just the component that I select. So I have to individually select each component I want to activate/deactivate.
As a test I try the same thing with a selection of de-activated parts and it has the same result.

I have had this problem too on R18. I have never found a solution to it.

Hi,

It can be done only by scripting.

That's generally a restriction in V5, it just won't activate/deactivate on a multi-selection. (There are several other commands that work this way) It's been that way as long as I've known. Here's my next-best-solution.

Create a new toolbar in the Assembly Design workbench. To this toolbar, add the "Activate" and "Deactivate" commands. Now, you can double-click the command icon to keep it active, and pick one part after another in the tree. It's slick.

I do this for several of the commands I frequently use, that are buried in the right-click menus.

Cheers,
Mark

Mark, thanks for the tip that is a good solution to an annoying issue.

Hi,

It seems that we are wrong...

Starting with r18 (I didn't notice earlier this feature) this is possible if you are using first the button Products selection (this will keep selection on Spec Tree) from the Filter Selection toolbar and then you can use what command you want (in this case deactivate or activate).
