hi,

We are facing huge issues in CATIA slowness.Sometimes it becomes difficult to close the application itself.

windows 7

64 bit

8GB RAM

clearing the cache directory, increasing the virtual memory are the usual settings we deal with.

do not limit the windows paging file and make sure you have space on that drive.

also check your CNEXT process and if it is using more than 8GB, then increase RAM on your computer. Using RAM is much faster than using paging file.

Do you use any network?

Hi itsmyjob,

thank you so much for your interest. As i told you already we do not limit the windows paging file and set its size as per the space available in the drives.

What do you mean by "network"? of course in our company we have a LAN.

if you have win admin access, try to use RESMON.EXE and check your CNEXT process.... see what it's doing.

Hi,

Even if you have the right settings for CATIA or your computer or a good hardware configuration, if you load a heavy assembly (thousands of parts) from a local computer or from network, it will take a while to close it, no matter if you are using a PDM system or not.
I saw many users just killing CATIA process in order to close CATIA but this is a bad solution because you can have a CATIA license hang-ed up on server, blocked for a period of time.

Fernando
