CatiaV5 license and Win 7

I installed 64bit Catia V5 R18 on a 64bit Win 7 enterprise. I set up the License Use Runtime as it was earlier for floating license. The Basic Lisence Tool can see the license server only when I turn off the windows firewall, but I cannot start Catia. The License manager says: “You have not requested a configuration or product license.
Could somebody help why it’s happen?

Go to tools---> options---> general tab---> licensing.
Check the licenses you have access to. Exit CATIA. Bring CATIA back up, you should be good to go.

Thank you Bryan.
The problem is that Catia tools--> options is not active as license manager not able to find active license server. However without firewall I can see the licenses in the LUM/ Basic License Tool.

then you need to find a tool that can see what ports are open and what program uses them so you will be able to open them up thruu firewall, i dont have catia available at the moment so i cant check. tool for xp is tcpview made by sysinternals(microsoft now) that tool if it works for 7 will show you what ports are in use if it doesnt work there should be something similar you can find.

That will not work for LUM as the the client port is dynamic and will change every session. To control this you need to give a value for IPAuthPort in I4LS.ini (usually set to 1516) on both the client and server, this restricts client side communication to UDP on port 1516. Server side communication is on UDP 1515 as usual (unless somebody has changed the port number to something other than the default). I4LS.ini is in the location shown in box at the bottom of the Configuration (I4CFG) tool.

Adding to PeterGuys tip... you could also try to add an enviroment variable to clearly point out i4ls.ini

IFOR_CONFIG=PATH\i4ls.ini

Thank you very much. We added 1515 to the IPAuthPort and it works again .

IPAuthPort should not be 1515 if this is used for server side communication, you may find it causes issues with the server as it will try to use the same port for two things. Use 1516 for the IPAuthPort and 1515 for the IPPort
