Hi all
Can anyone help me Identify a CAV fuel pump I have unearthed in my shed, the model details are DPA 3269F440
it must have been there for 10/15 years but looks quite new
apart froma bit of rust, thanks in advance.

You have already identified it. A CAV DPA pump. As fitted to many, many tractors around the world. 60's diesel fuel injection technology at its peak.

Some nice pictures on this site of Lucas (CAV) rotaries & of course the Bosch clones.

Hi Steve

Thanks for the reply, what I should have put in the my first post was how can I identify exactly which application or vehicle it would be suitable for, as I was going to advertise it for sale, as I am sure it would be useful to someone out there
its too good to dispose of. Thanks

Sorry, thought you'd found a lump of interesting looking metal in the back of the shed and wondered what it was. New DPA pumps are on EBay for up to $1000. Worth trawling.

Decoding that number indicates that this DPA (Distributor Pump type-A) injection pump has a mechanical governor and an advance device and is for a 6-cylinder engine. The application is for the Bathgate-built 6/98NT British Leyland (BLMC) engine.

There can't be too many of these engines around any more (thankfully).
