How effective is a ceramic coating when compared to traditional aluminum-clad mineral wool? I have no experience with the ceramic coating but from the literature I have read it seems to have excellent resistance to radiant heat but poor performance due to conductive heat transfer. Our application involves low Delta-T's, for tanks located indoors (i.e. no UV exposure). The tanks contain a fluid that must be maintained in a narrow temperature range year-round. As I said I have no experience with ceramic coatings but my gut feeling is that they would not be very effective in this application. Can anyone provide thoughts and/or experience on this issue?
