Chamfer

I've been working on this flange, trying to figure out how to get this chamfer to continue up from the hole all the way through the part.
Ive recently switched from autocad to inventor, and finding the transition quite brutal

Looks like you'll need to do a Revolve Cut.

Why not just put in a countersink hole rather than wast time with a hole and a chamfer? When modeling in a 3D parametric package like Inventor, you should model how you would manufacture.

Yes aardvarkdw that is a good suggestion but it still doesn't achieve what he wants.
A revolve/cut is what is required in that situation where the c'sink hole overlaps into another feature.

And Ryan even a day or two of training can solve most of the issues you have. Inventor is really a simple program to use and the transition from acad to INV is even easier when properly trained. 1 day of training = 1 month of headache free modeling.

I had to go with the revolve cut option, as mcgyvr stated, trying the counter sink option didn't achieve the result I wanted. Thanks.
As for training, I had some training disks work gave me on DVD, but I really didnt want to watch them at home... I dont think the g/f or kids would find any of it that interesting.. however I think I might send everyone to a movie tonight and watch a few of the DVD's...

Even running through the tutorials that ship with Inventor can really make life much easier. A few hours going through all of them and you should be able to use inventor with ease.

I took a week of training in IV 9 and pretty much all they taught us was what IV can do, not so much how to do it. And BTW, why is the c/s so close to the raised part of the flange? Remember, sometimes you just can't manufacture it the way you design it.

Have you tried to move the hole and chamfer to an earlier point in the browser? Like before the step was created. Sometimes this works but if there's a lot going on in the browser it probably won't.
