Change Manifestation to Specification?

I have asked this question before, but the thread was canceled and no answers are available, so I am asking again.

We are using UG/NX7.5 and one of our designers inadvertantly selected Manifestation instead of Specification during a save. The user continued on unknowingly and completed the design and detail drawing and as the project was about to be released the error was discovered.

With this background, is it possible to change/save/whatever this data file into a Specification file at this point in time so that a complete redo is not required?

These sound like Teamcenter issues. Unless someone with TC expertise can help you on this forum, I suggest that you contact GTAC for assistance.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

The only way that I know that might do it is to create a new Specification, select the named reference ('A'.prt or 'A'.dwg etc) from the Manifestation, paste that named reference into the new Specification, copy the name from existing named reference in the new Specification then delete or rename it, now rename the named reference you pasted into the Specification with the name you just copied. Try it and if it worked, delete the Manifestation.

Are you wanting to convert to master modeler?

Yes Mr. Baker it is a Teamcenter issue, but I thought I would try on here since many UG/NX users do so in conjunction with TCE.

Thank you sam5a1 for your possible fix, we will try that method. The user in question must have saved what he thought was his drawing (Specification) when in reality he saved to a Manifestation.

Hey,
If it's not very much files, You can export these files outside TC and after import as Specification. For Master files use options: "Use Existing".
