I made a solidworks part with parameters in cm.
But soliworks part is set to mm.
Do someone know a method to multiply all parameters for 10 ?

I don't want to use the scale feature but change all parameters values.

Thanks for the answer,

Minoand

"Tools-->Options-->Document Properties" and select units from the left-side menu.

This option convert the cm in mm and the model dimension don't change.

Probably is not possible to do that I need.

thank,

It is possible that the dimensions are set to override the part units setting. Right-click the dimension and select Properties. Make sure the "Use document's units" checkbox is checked.

If you went to Tools\options\Document Properties\units and changed the units I'm sure it changed. If not then your problems are bigger than just changing the Units.

You can't just multiply all your dims by 10. You would have to change the units to the proper units then change all the dims to the correct numbers. Meaning if you have a block that is 1mm x 1mm x 1mm and you change the units to CM then your block will not change...why because the 1mm has changed to what the equivalent is. Your block is now .1cm x .1cm x .1cm.

I guess if all your dims were in a DT then you could multiply them by 10, but that seems like a lot more work than what you want.

I didn't explain my problem well.

Example I had to make a cube 1CM x 1CM x 1CM and I insert the parameters 1, 1 and 1.

I checked solidworks unit and I saw that the unit is mm.

If I change to MM solidworks change the parameters to .1,.1 and .1.

I don't want this, I want to change unit from MM to CM without change the parameters' values.

I hope to explain better my problem.

Thank for your answer,

bye

Since you modeled your part in mm, it will always be in mm. If you change your Units to cm, the program converts the display of your original dimensions to cm.

In the example above, if you created a 1mm x 1mm x 1mm cube, then converted the units to cm, you get .1cm x .1cm x .1cm as expected.

If you want a 1cm cube, then you are going to have to go back into your sketches, and redimension your part in the proper units.

Thanks you for expalining that better MadMango...There is no way around this. I have been asked this question before, and you just have to change the dims to fit your needs.

IMHO - Next time just make sure your in the proper units. If I were you I would make some custom part templates using different units like:

Part-IN - Inches
Part-CM - Centimeters
Part-MM - Millimeters

This way you will use the right Units. You can always change the units once inside the part if you need too later.
