If a I make a change to toolbar such as adding a new macro button it'll stay there for the day but when I log off and back on its gone. There are also no files in my recent items list. I'm thinking this might be a permissions issue as I'm not admin on this PC. Any ideas of a fix? SW 2007 SP5. Thanks, nick

Have your IT people give you admin (or at least read/write permission on the SW install files.

They claim to have given r/w permission on the solidworks folder. I wonder if this info is saved anywhere else.

I can't run the Copy Setting Wizard either, as it claims I need admin privilige.

You need write access to certain areas of the registry, particularly HKCU\Software\SolidWorks. You may also need write access to HKLM\Software\SolidWorks.

The info is saved in the Registry. I assumed having r/w permission on the SW install folder would allow changes to the SW portion.

I agree w/ EEnd. This is definitely a registry permissions thing. At the very least, you need access to HKCU\Software\SolidWorks.

IT should be able to set the security of the Copy Settings Wizard to allow your usage.
