Changing a dimension symbol to a "reserved" one

Hi,

I would like to modify a dimension symbol, let's say from D to B. When I try to do it, I get a message that this symbol is reserved or exists already. Apparently I used it before, but then deleted that feature with the symbol B... I don't even remember. Can I find what it's assigned to and change it - use it where I need to now?

Thanks,

Oxana

Oxana,

... or maybe B is a variable.

Load your part and from relations choose SHOW DIM and type "B" (without quotes!). If a dim has the symbol "B" assigned, Pro/E will show this dimension. Or evaluate "B".

Also check all the variables/relations. You cannot assign a symbol ("B") to a dimension if there is a variable "B" in your part.

Or maybe a feature from your part shares the same name "B". Check it in your model tree.

Well, I checked it by SHOW DIM - got a message "Invalid dimension name", but when I evaluated it, I got a number (113.75). I know where it could have been originally; it was related to the height of the panel, but seems frozen, since when I change the height, the model regenerates; I evaluate B again and get the same result. I searched my program for B= - no results. I even searched it for B, went through all my relations B by B letters :) - no variable with that name (I was pretty sure in that). And there is no feature with a name B either. Any other ideas?

Oxana,

I think that your "B" is a dimension and not a variable. And this dimension is assigned to a suppressed feature. Please verify if you have suppressed features in your model. If yes, then go to Pro/Program and perform a search for "suppressed" and search for dimension "B". Or simply resume the feature (if possible) and do SHOW DIM.
