Changing Scale with views?

I can't find it in Y14.100 so I thought I'd ask here... Is it acceptable to change the scale on a projected or section view as long as you put the scale below the view name? I've never done this but a co-worker is asking me if he can do it on a section view (not a true projection in this instance)?

Also if the section view is on the same sheet as the parent view does the viewing direction have to match if it is not inline with the parent view? For example the view is to the bottom right of the section view can the section view be as if it were on the left (looking the opposite direction)?

It's not a projection - that is, a 1:1 linear relation - if it's a different scale.

However, a removed view can be a different scale as can a section view. If there are arrows and a view name then go for it.

Not sure about the second half. If you mean that the section unfolds to one side, but the view isn't placed on that same side?? That sometimes happens when there isn't room for it. Keep in mind that the user of the drawing will have a lot to figure out and the less complicated that process is for them, the better.

As gratifying as it might be to look at a drawing for an hour before uttering "Oh, now I get it!" anything that can be done to reduce it to a couple of minutes and "Of course, this aligns with that and that fits there." is appreciated.

The goal is to avoid making those cross-eye stereogram images (truly fun in their own right.)

I had one bunch that made electronics box drawings - milled out aluminum blocks with multiple levels and some complete rectangular holes and not enough section views. One had to start at an edge and mark up the drawing to see where there was material and where there was not, like those logic puzzles - Mary is 2 year older than Jeff. Mike likes the color yellow. Sue has an interest in math. How old is Marcia?

Like WTF. Just put a section with cross hatching so everyone else doesn't have to.

Thank you both for the responses that helps greatly.
