Hi, I know how to check for sketch relations which relate to something outside of the sketch they are in, but I can't find a way to check for dimensions that have been measured against something that is outside the sketch.

The reason I want to do this is so that I can re-order my sketches.

I haven't been able to find a way so I've had to delete all the dimensions, re-order the sketches and re-dimension it. Obviously not the most productive way of doing it...

Thanks for your help

If a sketch has in-context relations, you can open the related assembly by right-clicking the sketch icon in the feature tree and selecting "Edit in context". This will open the related assembly.

titaniumapple,

Edit the sketch and then click on "Display/Delete Relations". In the relations property manager box, at the top chose "external". This will list all the relations and dimensions that are measured to something external to the sketch.

Yeh that's what I tried but it only lists Sketch Relations! I would have expected it to list dimensions too but it doesn't.

I went through all the external relations and none of them would have stopped me from re-ordering the sketches that I wanted to, but when I tried to do that it wouldn't work. Once I deleted all the dimensions then it worked...

titaniumapple,

I using SW2005 SP5.0 and they show up in my dialog box as distance1, distance2 etc.

Thanks, maybe it was just a weird error or something because I can see them now, but before they weren't coming up as external references, even though they were the cause.
