checking dimensions in edrawings?

I have a question about using edrawings. I know it is possible to check mass properties of a model pretty easily using edrawings, but what if I want to check a few key dimensions? I know there is a “dimensioning” feature in it, but it seems like you have to input all the data instead of it telling you what the value of what you are checking is. Is there a way you can easily just check a few dimensions without having to input comments and save them?

It would be really handy to be able to do this, that way we could send customers/suppliers edrawings files without having to worry about making CAD files compatible.

Thanks for any advice.

e-drawings does have measuring capability if your subscription allows.

Another option would be to save as pdf.
This works as excellent product definition for a vendor without (or with) Solidworks software.
A vendor that I use requests pdf files for drawings and any reference parts for stamping. If the vendor used the Solidworks drawings themselves, there could be a mix-up as to who has the correct product definition. The pdf will never change.

Happy exchanging

Actually I found out how to measure in edrawings - you have to enable the option of measuring dimensions when you save the file. The default setting is for measuring to be disabled.
