Hello guys.

I have a Topsides chemical injection assembly (top injection orientation) which is supposed to come into a main flow line. The chemical injection line and the quill are made of 316L while the main line is LTCS.

My question is what sort of gasket needs to be placed between the stainless steel injection point flange and the LTCS main pipe header flange? Is it stainless steel, insulation gasket, soft iron or some other suggestion.

I will appreciate responses with reasons why a particular option is better to be selected compared to others. Thanks

@ Luis. Thanks. Any reason/s for your suggestion please?

IMO, the gasket type as specified in the LTCS Spec should be fine as the LTCS is still used in the process after chemical injection point in your system. As the chemical is typically injected in the middle of the process pipe and pointing downstream. the flange connection of the SS quill to the LTCS pipe will see mostly process fluid.

Thanks @mk3223.

With an LTCS gasket in place and process liquid getting to the flange connection of the SS injection line and LTCS process line, will the gasket not get pitted over time thereby leading to leaks?

It is widly used in oil refinery industry with good results.
