Hi,

I'm trying to learn how to assemble a chemical injection system for oil and gas platform, is there any expert can teach me?
I only need theories of what are the requirements to assemble a chemical injection system.

What chemicals?? Are they production chemicals such as corrosion inhibitors, biocides, scale inhibitors,etc.? or is it methanol, glycol?

You need to FIRST select the pumps based upon flow capacity required, discharge pressure, temperature, and nature of chemical. Then you can go on to system design.

@Sjones,

I've sent request to connect with your LinkedIn. Looking forward to have a good discussion with you.

@DubMac

Thank you for the information! It will helps me if you have a flow/guidelines to choose the suitable assemblies. We received lots of request to fabricate custom made Chemical Injection System mostly for the corrosion inhibitors and scale inhibitors for offshore platform(crude and gas).

Most all of the data required to build custom systems should be contained in the requests you are receiving.

@DubMac Unfortunately that is not the case, we only received basic information of the system and client are expecting us to propose suitable system for them.

A godd rule when responding to requests for quotation/information: Don't put any more effort into answering a request than the requester put into asking it.

It may sound crass, but if a requester has only provided very general information in his request, you should only give back very general information. Otherwise you are most likely "assuming facts not in evidence", and can lead you and your client into trouble.

In other words: Don't answer questions that are not asked.

You are provided very basic information and are asked to propose a suitable system; you should ask your client for suitable system information. You must have flow, pressure, fluid properties, physical constraints, etc. to move forward.

First you should ask for the system caracteristics. Without the information is really not possible to project any system.

These kind of systems normally applies a tank where the product will be contained and 2 pumps(one is stand by). We normally use positive displacement pumps (usually when big pressures and small flow are desired), but you can aply centrifugal ones (usually when big flow and smaller pressures are desired).

A tubing system conect the tank, pumps and the equipment which will recieve chemical injection.

Inside the equipment you can use a commom tube or a niple to spread the chemical product.

Hope it could be useful
