What chemical processes are commercially available that treat digester effluent leaving solids in a form that could be handled and sold as fertilizer? Water must leave process clean enough avoid surface water issues. Thanks, Bastean

Biological processes, with sludge thickening.
Depending from your budget, you can restore water up to potable quality.
Be little more specific with your request :)

Working on a dairy farm with most likely a plug flow digester. Need to get nutrients out of effluent in a transportable form to sell as fertilizer because there is no cropland at the dairy site on which to spread the waste. Water doesn't need to be potable, but must not contaminate surfacewater if released.

The only process that I am familiar with is a new process from Ostara:

Crystal Green™, the fertilizer byproduct from the Ostara liquid sludge nutrient removal process, is the only slow-release fertilizer with a combination of nitrogen, phosphorus and magnesium.

Other than ostara, you would have to use the classic wastewater treatment processes such as sedimentation, sludge dewatering, filtration, sludge drying, etc.
