Hello! I am curious to know if anyone has ever experienced a situation like this?
We have 2 Joy Axial supply fans that are having problems with their pitch.(One has been fix pitched to 50%)The other sometimes goes off on high static. Static setpoint is set for 1.25. Readings at the fan itself can reach 7-8 in.
All of the chilled water lines are insulated and coils have been checked for leaks and none were found. There is so much condensation in the chilled water coil room floor(it is blowing around)that it leaks below into the tenant space. The drain pans are not clogged or overflowing.
There is another problem at this building and it is water in the pneumatic lines. These lines are for all fans and Building Automation controls. What should be done after the proper air dryer was installed ? What actions should be taken? This problem was ongoing for approximately 3 months.

First, you should maintain a coil face velocity of not more than 500fpm, otherwise you have moisture carry over problems. Secondly, the condensate drain lines should have water seal (U loop) and the difference between the two legs of the loop should, ideally, be equal to fan static.

Compressed air for instrumentation should be dried to -40[sup]0[/sup]ADP. This is possible only with desiccant dryers. Refrigerated type dryers give not more than -25[sup]0[/sup]C ADP. Provide drain valves for vertical pipelines.

There could be moisture carry-over if the velocity is high - 500 fpm is the normal industry standard. Try installing a mist eliminator.
