EN 10305-5:E220,EN 10130 : DC01AM and EN10025 : S255JRG2 or J355JRG3

how does this compare to the Chinese Q235?

I understand Q235 is comparable to 1020 steel, what does that mean in respect to the above Standards?

Germanconnection;

According to my reference below,

Q235 is under T13788-2000, which is a cold rolled ribbed steel bar specification for the reinforcement of concrete...

E220 is under a specification for steel tubes for precision applications...

DC01 (no AM) is under multiple specifications
EN 10270-2
EN 10130 for cold rolled low carbon steel flat products for cold forming...

S255JRG2 I believe should be S235JRG2, is under specification EN 10250-2 for open die steel forgings.

or J355JRG3. I have no current listing. There is an S355JRG3 under the same specification above (EN 10250-2).

As you can see you have various product forms. Chemical composition ranges were listed but I did not want to list them because of time and space.

If you want to compare, obtain the necessary specifications mentioned above and review them for a proper comparison.

metengr,

thanks for the above. I am trying to determine if steel to standard Q235 (T13788-2000) is suitable for applications that specify E220. Any suggestions?

No, Q235 according to GB/T 13788-2000 is not equivalent to E220 according to EN 10305-5. The former is for steel reinforcing bar for concrete, the latter is for welded & cold sized square & rectangular tubes.
