Hi everyone,
I need to apply a contact element in my model, between two solid elements, a Beam and a wall. Which contact element or interaction should I use? I need a element that I can specify the value of the normal and tangential stiffness, that will work only compression. There is some interaction or element similar to a gap? In this case is better to use just an contact or I need to apply a element? Do you guys get any advices how should I do that?
Regards

Hey guys, I'm a little confuse with this problem. I read about connector and I think I could use them. I have the following caracteriscts of the contact between the two solid models: friction coefficient, Máx shear stress, tangential and normal stiffness and Máx penetration. How should I proceed? Should I use a interaction, a connector or create a cohesive elemment?
I read that I can select a reference length for a connector and I could choose the máx penetration after that, is that right?

Hey
I am no expert but I am kind of working on a similar problem in 2D. I am using a cohesive surface to surface interaction that considers normal and tangential stiffness that come into play only in compression using the master and slave surface phenomenon.I read about them in the Abaqus analysis user's manual. Try that out?

Hi WayneKagawa, I didn't read about it. Thank you for the advice. Could you pass me the name of the manual's section? Do you get good results?
