Chrome Plating Die Cast

I am wondering which material, Zinc Die Cast or Aluminum Die Cast, Chrome Plating would bound and adapt to better. Say if the part is going to be used in an outdoor grill.

Both can be satisfactorily chrome plated for outdoor decorative applications.

You're going to keep that zinc die cast part away from the hot part of the grill, right?

the part would be on the outside of the grill say like where a company's logo would be

my real question is which of those materials would bond to chrome plating better, in general

Zinc alloy is easier to plate and costs less to die cast (lower melting temperature) than aluminum alloy. See
