Hello!,
Our jet fuel tanks (atmospheric) have circular manholes on the roof (flange covers of 24” diameter). We need to convert them from flange covers to hinged covers in order to facilitate the inspection (through them) of the floating suction pipe (according with API 653, in the Inspection list for tanks in service: C.1.3.7). Also, we think to use aluminium as the material of the hinged covers (less weight).
We see, also, the figures 3-13, 3-14 and 3-15 from the API 650, but they not mention the material of the covers.
Is it posible to use aluminium for the manholes covers?
Regards
