Hello, I am looking for some information about circular waveguides modes, like normalization constants, mode functions and so on. I looked on classical books like Collin, Balanis and so on, but none of them gives me any simple table with TE and TM modes and normalization constants... Do you know where can I find what I need?

Ramo, Whinnery and Van Duzer (Fields and Waves ...) third ed. has 6 pages on circular guides including a mode table

TE11 3.41a
TM01 2.61a
TE21
TE01=TM11 1.64a

Terman, Radio Engineers Handbook (1950), gives TE11 cutoff wavelength as 3.46a (a= radius of guide)Reference Data for Engineers (Sams) 8th ed, 1993 gives

TE11 3.414a
TM01 2.619a
TE21 2.057a
TE01=TM11 1.640a

thank you, but what about normalization constants?

Giovanni

Could you briefly explain what is meant by "normalization constants" since I have not yet seen that term in my travels.
