Hi folks,

I just want to understand the close surface option in CATIA.How to apply it in case of complex surfaces.how do i overcome the error messages I get when I try to convert complex surfaces to Solid.
Error message :.permanent restriction stopped converting the surface to solid.

Thanks in advance.

most of the time the close will fail because you have holes in your surface.

Hi itsmyjob,
Thanks a lot for your insights.Excellent once again. Will check it out and revert you if required.
By the way, if there is a non planar surface in the geometry, will it cause issues in converting it to a close surface?
Thanks a lot.

As long as the boundaries match (planar surface and non planar one) and as long as there is no self intersection, it should be fine.
