Coal Water Slurry + Diesel Engines

Does anyone have more information about using a coal water slurry in low-speed diesel engines? Also, are there any commercial producers of CWS in America? Thank you for your time.

the story i've been told is the feds had grants to try this and cooper-bessemer and fairbanks-morse tryed many times to make it work, the requirement was to last 1000 hrs i beleive. don't know of any that made it half that long.
 
I wasn't aware of the history, but I didn't suspect it would be much more than what you've mentioned, if they had any history at all.
