Good morning Gent,

Have you ever applied coaltar epoxy for hydrocarbon product like crude oil ?

In my past projects I used phenolic or polyamid epoxy.

I have a crude oil tank and the interior surface to be coated by coaltar epoxy. The specs little bit ambiguous.
There is statement coaltar epoxy for crude oil and another one phenolic epoxy for hydrocarbon product.

Thanks for your comments.

We used this internal standard in PDVSA Venezuela.

Good morning Figuerdo,

Thanks for your input.

Your painting specs. is the one that I used in my previous projects.

Our Crude Oil tank maximum operating temperature is 65 C.

The client approved specs states Coaltar Epoxy for internal surface of Crude Oil Tank. But the other paragraph states use Phenolic Epoxy for Hydrocarbon product with maximum operating temperature up to 80 C.

In my opinion we should use Phenolic Epoxy not Coaltar Epoxy for this case.

Good, we have experience with this product until 90°C you can used with out problems
