Hi alls,

What does it happen with pH reading when the electrode is starting to coat?

Thanks.

With a coated electrode the sensitivity of the electrode is diminished. In colloid suspensions you can expect erroneous readings.

One problem is the tiny ceramic pickup is prevented from absorbing the sample. Temperature is affected since the probe is now slightly insulated.

You can clean the probe with any industrial strenght cleaner. Just be sure not to scratch the glass.

Good Luck!
