We need to coat an aluminium plate which is used for a machine which processes food.

We though initially about using PTFE (teflon), but the maximun suggested temperature is 260° acording to the suplier (we need up to 300°C). Someone told us to us PEEK, perhaps a coating named Victrex.

¿Do you know if this coating is suitable for our application?, ¿What are the advantages of Victrex versus Teflon?

Thanks and Regards

What is the purpose of the coating? Does it needs to be non-stick, or is it a sliding surface contact to reduce friction?

Hi. I agree with the others. Vicote coatings by Victrex achieve release the way all the other manufacturers do: with PTFE or other non stick fluoropolymers. What makes Victrex (Whitford Coatings, now, too) unique is the enhanced mechanical properties from their PEEK-based binders.
