Hello,

I wanted to know if it is possible to get a text or command code of all the commands that we have executed on SAP2000.

For example,
If I want to use a part of the modelling to be same for 5 different models, if I can access the code file, I can easily copy paste just that part of the code instead of repeating it all?

This can be done in staadPRO. Is this possible in SAP2000 too?

Thank you.

Use .s2k files to import/combine models. Any SAP2000 model can be exported into .s2k and then imported into other SAP2000 models.

You mean the .$2k file? And also, is there not any file which I can open on Notepad or something? And make changes to it?

Thank you for your quick reply.

No, actually I meant what I wrote, .s2k, not .$2k. You don't see import or export of .$2k files in the File menu, do you? .$2k may possibly subsitute for .s2k, but my original advice still stands.

Yes! I got it! Thank you so much for your reply!

Also, Staad sucks.. when the company I worked for 6 years ago was transitioning from Staad to SAP, combining of separate models was at that time a HUGE advantage for SAP compared to Staad. No comparison really.. I'm guessing from your comments that Staad has improved somewhat in combining separate models.

Oh! Once I figured this out. Yes Staad might be a little harder. Thank you.

Hello,

In staadPRO, you know how there is a text file in which you can change the commands? One small change in command can change the whole program? Is there something like this in SAP?

I managed to export the file to word. But it is huge and very tedious I think.

Thank you.
