Hello all,
Realistically, after a code repair on a pressure vessel by an outside contractor, what is the ownership/operating company expected to keep on file with regard to the repair? I came from a company who held their own R stamp and were self insured, so our processes were a little different than what I am dealing with now. Thanks ahead of time for any help!

First thing I would start with is the owner/operator quality manual.

The devil is in the details; she also wears prada.

We always gave a copy of the Repair report to the owner. Alteration reports also were sent to the National Board when required. I knew some Owners did not properly save/file their copies of the Reports.

What ever is contractually agreed with. As a minimum the NB Forms completed for the activity. If the Vessel is insured that Insurance Company may require that all repairs be reported. The Insurance Inspector may require to review it at his Inspection visits.

NBIC
5.3 DISTRIBUTION OF FORM R-1
Legible copies of completed Form R-1, together with attachments, shall be distributed to the owner or
user and Jurisdiction, if required, and shall be provided to the Inspector and the inservice Authorized
Inspection Agency of the pressure retaining item upon request
