Hi all,

I am writing a specification for a "Steam and Water Analyzing System (SWAS)" and want to know what are the codes and standards that govern the construction and testing of a steam and water analyzing system (SWAS)?

I would review the Scope of ASME B31.1 Power Piping Code and decide if this fits your service conditions.

Sorry, i'm not familiar with them, where would i start looking, who is the issuing body?

No codes or standards but my hard drive search located a vendor, Watersequipment.com
in Lansdale, PA.

Thnx JKseagull, that will come in useful.

Any others have input?

There are a number of applicable ASTM STandards on this subject.

You should also look at ANSI/ASME PTC 19.11-1997 Steam and Water Sampling, Conditioning and Analysis in the Power Cycle.

Also ASTM D1066-06 Standard Practice for Sampling Steam should be followed.

Collecting representative steam and water samples is difficult and making sure they are conditioned properly is equally important.

Contact Waters Equipment Company or Sentry Equipment Company They can point you in the right direction.
