Got some architectural precast that I need to fasten together/hold down to a precast column. My thoughts are threaded rods into a insert into the top of the column. tighten it all up, then grout. My question is, is regular threaded rod or a coil rod better? Im leaning coil rod since its more forgiving on the threads.
My alternate is a dowel bar with a threaded end into the insert, and then a sleeve it can all be grouted around.
Thoughts on the better connection?
I will work on the details and try to get posted
