Hi,

I have a 3.1 certificate of a 6mm thk plate from coil ("hot rolled coil, as rolled") material SA 516 GR.70.

In this certificate, it's declared that the material is normalized, according to ASME II Part.A, SA 516 Gr.70 and SA 20.

There's only 1 tensile test value here reported.

Question: do you think it's acceptable according to ASME?

If I read SA 20 Par.11.1.2 (which refers to plates from coil, as in my case), I feel a little confused... May I apply par.11.1.3? My plate is normalized, so it requires only 1 test coupon...Am I right?

Thank you

The tensile value that is reported is the average of many such values. So you are good.
