I am moving from nx5 to nx 7.5 the color selection menu in 7.5 shows a lot more colors than nx5 but the are much smaller and difficult to see. Is there any way to switch the menu to look like nx5 or make the favorite colors larger

We haven't actually ADDED any additional colors (there are still only 216) but we did change the design of the dialog and increased the number of colors which can be included in the 'Favorites' (these changes were made in NX 6.0). Now it may be subtle, but we also adjusted the color mix. We were getting complaints that while the 216 colors were spread across the BLACK to WHITE spectrum in a pure even distribution, this resulted in what the human eye perceived as having too many YELLOWS and GREENS and not enough BROWNS and ORANGES.

As for the size of the color patches, to change that you need to go to...

Preferences -> Visualization -> View/Screen

...and select the 'Calibrate' button and adjust the 'reference circle' so that it nearly fills the dialog area, hit OK and you should be good to go.

Wow that made it all better, I would have never figured that out on my own. thanks John

Unfortunately, this behavior is part of what many refer to as simply 'tribal knowledge'. But to that end, I had a conversation this very week with our documentation people about how we need to either improve the awareness of what this 'feature' controls or at least improve the content of the Help files so as to cover all of the benefits.
