can you define "commercial design engineering " and what field (i.e. civil, structural, mechanical or electrical)

I am a structural engineer. Most of my experience is in heavy industry, such as steel mills. I am looking for reference materials on commercial design standards for such things as retail buildings, restaurants and office buildings.

I have already looked at the various building codes. I also just bought a copy of Architectural Graphic Standards, which is very useful. Are there any other suggestions out there? It never hurts to have too many resources.

You may look at "Floor vibrations due to human activity" Steel design guide series # 11 (AISC).
Commercial buildings with spans 40-50 feet will require vibration check.

U can Consult a book"Design of Concrete Structures" by Nilson

You may want to check out:

Building Construction Details - Practical Drawings by Hans Banz ISBN 0-442-21330-1 or

Construction Details for Commercial Buildings - A Graphics File for Architects

Sorry, the second text is by Glenn Wiggins and the ISBN is 0-8230-0927-0

Thanks for all of the great suggestions
