Hi everyone, I got a job with a plan like this

Basically there are 2 types of building, with width 5m and width 7 m. Please correct me if I did something wrong with my step of designing.
1. First I separately make 2 ETABS model, each for width 5m and 7m. And make sure my design is proper
2. Since I have received the area plan for the building, I combine both of my separate ETABS model into 1 (Shown in pic 1 and pic 2 above)
3. The consequences of combining both building is that I have to make some adjustments on the part I highlighted in yellow. For example like using 1 instead of 2 separate column and beam for both building.
4. There was no problem in the picture number 1, my separate design perfectly proper for the combined building. But in the picture number 2, as you can see, the mass buildings become more wider. This effected my design significantly...
5. I tried to figure out what's wrong and come up with something (this is the first mode displacement)

As you can see in the image above, if I modelled the whole mass building as one, the body part is very stiff, while the edge part rotates significantly. I mean, for me it completely make sense but my previous design wasn't proper anymore and I need to make a huge alteration to my design to increase it's capacity, since the shear increase significantly.
6. For my final decision, I do not increase the size or reinforcement of the column since they complained so much saying it's out of budget. But I think my initial design which I did separately can be use but in doing so, I will be in a huge trouble when a huge earthquake occur. The column ratio reach about 1.2 - 1.7 if a maximum acceleration earthquake happened according to ETABS
Please comment if my assumptions are wrong or if you guys could suggest an idea in concept to help me understand more about the mass building behavior.

THANK YOU

For further information, the column capacity to its axial moment ultimate load (PMM Ratio) is less than 1 for individual separate analysis, and if I combine both building shown in picture 1. But the PMM ratio increase significantly to more than 1 in the picture 2
