Hello !

I'm in a very difficult situation to do calculation of reinforcement area in common pad between Two nozzle, this case is not subject to multi- opening requirement as per UG-42.
the result of my calculation is follows.
- Required area : 0.5*d*tr in a single opening case
- Available area : (Dp-d-2tn)*te*f4 multiple of proportion of Pad diameter.

For example
- Avaiable area in Nozzle "A" : 200 cm^2
- Available area in Nozzle "B" : 100 cm^2
* Pad Dia. in Nozzle "A" : 300 mm
* Pad Dia. in Nozzle "B" : 200 mm

Proportion in "A" : 0.6, 300/(300+200)
Proportion in "B" : 0.4, 200/(300+200)

- Applied available are in "A" 300 cm^2 * 0.6 = 180 cm^2
- Applied available are in "B" 200 cm^2 * 0.4 = 80 cm^2

Is this case defined in ASME code requirement.

Regards,

Just follow what is in UG-42(a): sum the required reinforcement for the two openings and compare to the area available along the line connecting the two openings.
Knowing your actual proportions would make it simpler to judge. Why do you say that you are not subject to UG-42? If these are separate openings, just calculate each one as single.
Your method of proportioning the reinforcement based on pad diameter is unclear to me; it is anyway not in the code.
