I have a communication problem . ?f somene gives me practical soluton , I really appriciate.

we have a hydrolic power plant. We have a 154/34.5 kV Power Substation. Hydrolic power plant are connected to 154/34.5 kV Power Substation via 2x477 MCM lines with OPGW ( 10 cores ). we have a headpond place at 500m heigh from HPP .There is a fiber optic cable ( 8 core ) between HPP and Headpond. There is a weir which is 5 km far from headpond . there exist 8 core fiber optic cable between headpond and weir. There is only one telephone echange that is placed in 154/ 34.5 kV power plant. I wanted 2 telefon line to HPP and 2 telephone line to 154/34.5 kV power plant. OPGW and Fiber Optic cable have enough core
PROBLEM : I want to comminicate all of them.
Do we need a telefonexhanger also to HPP.
which equipments are required to comminicate all places. Thanks to good and economic solutions.

There are many solutions to your requirement. I attached one of the possible solution, using traditional TDM multiplexers and T1 fiber optic modem. The TA-624 accepts the standard analog line (POTS) from your telephone exchange (PBX) into a T1 digital carrier. The fiber optic modem converts the T1 electrical signal into optical signal. The fiber modem at the HPP converts the optical T1 into electrical, towards the TA-604. The TA-604 demultiplexes the two phone lines intended for HPP and presents them as POTS line. The other circuits would have to be mapped to another T1, towards the headpond, and eventually to weir location.

Of course, there are products out there that combines the multiplexing and electrical to optical conversion in one box, but they tend to be expensive.

One setback of this solution is the fact that the multiplexers are daisy-chained, which would cause interruption in service on the remote sites when, for example, the HPP multiplexer device fails. One way to mitigate this is to deploy a pair of multiplexer per link, such as POWER SUB to HPP, POWER SUB to HEADPOND, and POWER SUB to WEIR.

BTW, the following info are needed so i can further asssist you:

1. Type and model number of telephone exchange (PBX) at the power sub-station.

2. What type of fiber (multimode or singlemode) is between the four sites? The fiber between the headpond and the wier is most likely be singlemode due to the distance.

3. Are you looking to provide standard POTS line services to these sites? A POTS (Plain Old Telephone System) line is your standard telephone line at home.

The other method would be using VOIP. If these locations are currently connected over a TCP/IP connection, products from can be used to provide the telephone services you would need. It will be cheaper this method.

Again, the solutions described are just a few of the possible solutions to your requirements.
