Hi all,

do you know which kind of communication interface and protocol is used for diesel & gas engines >=1MW ?
I am interested in reading operating parameters. (E.g. temperatures etc)

Following systems are in focus:

MWM (ADEC)
Wärtsilä (WECS)
MAN (SACOS)
MTU

Thank you for any input !

Regards

Thomas

Well, since they're all likely different, the best thing to do is to ask each manufacturer.

They might have a CANBus interface that conforms with either SAEJ1939 or CANOpen, but they might not. Temperatures as operating parameters would also depend on whether or not instrumentation to measure the parameter is connected to the ECU, again, not all of them do.

Thanks for your reply.
I know J1939 for automotive applications and of course mapping of some specific parameters is different.
So for implementation mapping will be required...

But my first question is just to find out which types of interface are established.
So if anyone has a hint please let me know.
