If someone it's practice with abaqus i have this problem.
I have modeled a circular plate with thickness of 0.0005 m and a pressure applied on a ring area between r=4.5 mm and r=5 mm of 0.5 N/m^2. The 3 translations at the border are blocked (U1=0,U2=0,U3=0)

I solved the problem in two different way:

3D analisys with the whole plate and a pressure on a ring area.
axisymm analisys (than modeling the 2D profile of the plate) with a Force concentrated F=7.4613E-06 (equal to the pressure) applied at r= 5mm that is the same of the analitycal problem.

my problem is that I have found very similar results for the numerical solutions but a different results compare to the analitycal solution and with an other numerical solution (Nastran)

this perblem is not difficult to model especially for people that use abaqus frequently than I would ask if anyone try to solve then we can compare the results for displacment and stress

thanx

Hi Nikko801

What is the diameter of the plate?

Regards

Martin

oops sorry I forgot some data

diameter of the plate is 7.5 mm
thickness= 0.5 mm
ring where the presssure is apply have external diameter=5 mm
internal diametr=4.5mm In the 2D axisymm solution I have modeled a concentrated force equal to the pressure on the ring in r=5mm because is equal to the analitycal model)7.4613E-06 N

E=3GPa
POisson modulus=0.3

thanx nikko

I have found my error.now my resuts are the same.. in the numerical solution I have used different costraints from analytical..
