Composite Test per ASTM C393 1

I am trying get some core shear strength data for the honeycomb panel 3" Thick according to ASTM C393. Size of the specimen per this ASTM is 6 (Width) X 3 (Thickness) but there are no clear guidelinse for the length of the specimen. Please let me know where I can find guidelines to get the appropriate length. I am newbie to composites so please pardon my lack of knowledge.

Which version of C393 do you have? C 393/C 393M – 06 was revised with equations for sizing the specimen.
