Hello,
I'm looking for a software for sizing cables and conductor according to American Standards (not IEC).
Following items shall be considered :
- System voltage,
- Circuit voltage drop,
- Short-circuit time-current curves,
- Ampacity rating of cable in free air, underground duct banks, above grade conduits, cable trays,
- Ambient temperature & corresponding correction factor
- Raceway grouping corrector factor.

Could someone advises references, websites concerning this type of software. Thanks in advance.

You could try SKM, PowerTools(I don't work for them by the way). I use it at my facility, and it's a great tool. If you're looking for something free, I'm sure you could do a search on the web. There may be some universities distributing freeware.

In the UK a very good program is called AMTECH Cablemaster (I don't work for these either), I don't know if they have an American version, you could try a search on the net.
The program is not free.

Some of these programs that have been suggested are very good and also very expensive. I use a program called EFUS that I think only costs $35-$60 and is produced by "Softcalc". It sizes conduit based on conductor sizes, sizes conductors based on amperage, sizes service and equipment grounds, does voltage drop analysis and several other things. All calcs are based on the latest version of the NEC. Is a good alternative if you do not want to spend a lot of money.
