Hello All,
I've been tasked by my supervisor to come up with a preliminary framing plan for a 55 foot tall, 3-story building that will be used as a finance center. The preference of the building is to be entirely cast in place concrete and we are in a high seismic zone. I am in a stump trying to figure out where to lay out columns as I am looking to explore concrete special moment frames and/or flat slab. The skewed portion of the building is what throws me off the most. Does anybody who have framed out buildings with a similar layout to this have any recommendations right off the bat in terms of column placements?
The first picture below was my attempt at brainstorming possible column placements based on spans, I was looking to incorporate a beam/slab frame system, however it violates a lot of the spaces/functions.
Many thanks,
